Amalfi - Hotel Luna Convento

This former convent was founded in 1222 by St. Francis of Assisi. The Luna Convento was the first hotel in Amalfi to be opened on the Coast in 1821. Since then, it has been managed by the Barbaro family. It  welcomed celebrities such as Henrik Ibsen, Ingrid Bergman, Roberto Rossellini and many others. Located high up on the sea, the buildings around the Cloister include 43 rooms and suites, 2 restaurants, bars and a meeting room. In our hotel in Amalfi there is a church, where weddings are celebrated,  and a Saracen Tower,  where weeklong cooking courses take place, and from which clients can reach the cliff, equipped with facilities and a seawater swimming pool.
